R. B. Thieme, Jr., Bible Ministries

The word of God is alive and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit, and of the joints and the marrow, and is a critic of thoughts and intents of the heart. (Heb. 4:12)

All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God might be mature, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Tim. 2:15)

LeviticalOfferings.jpg (13326 bytes)Levitical Offerings depicted the person and work of Christ before He "became flesh and tabernacled among us." These Jewish rituals give us a new appreciation of our magnificent Savior. Why is He the "Lamb of God"? Why is His saving work called the "blood of Christ"?

Five Levitical Offerings instituted in Leviticus 1—5 teach vital doctrines concerning our so great salvation and the mechanics of recovering temporal fellowship with God after committing sin. In fact, salvation has always been the same in every generation of human history—personal faith in Jesus Christ as He was revealed. The Levitical Offerings are an Old Testament revelation of the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Our understanding of Christ and the cross increases as we view our Lord’s work from this ancient perspective. Generation upon generation of believers learned Bible doctrine from these dramatic ceremonies.
