R. B. Thieme, Jr., Bible Ministries

The word of God is alive and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit, and of the joints and the marrow, and is a critic of thoughts and intents of the heart. (Heb. 4:12)

All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God might be mature, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Tim. 2:15)

BloodOfChrist.jpg (14793 bytes)The Blood of Christ links the New Testament with the Old Testament. God ordained animal sacrifices in Israel to foreshadow the saving work of the promised Messiah.

For hundreds of years, the innocent animal figuratively bore the guilt of the sinner. When Christ came as the reality, the promise was fulfilled. Christ was judged on the cross for the sins of mankind. He became the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world.

Throughout the New Testament the "blood of Christ" declares God's faithfulness. The Savior has arrived! This graphic term links Jesus Christ with the blood of the sacrificial animals, dramatically presenting our Lord's credentials in terms of previous divine revelation. The blood of Christ declares His identity and explains the efficacy of His salvation work on the cross.
